Front clip replacement - alignment question / issue at right side dash area

I've replaced the full front clip of my 1960 C1 but used the original inner guards. The clip aligned and fitted well but I have one concern between where the clip is bonded to the scalloped section of the dash on the right side. I have a large lip of about 1/4" at the worst point and believe this to be an issue that needs clarification and fixing. Options are to grind off the lip, bog up the lip or split the bond and try and reposition and rebond this area.

The first photo (not of my C1) shows how I believe it should look and the remainder are of mine.
